Movies encompass you with all the elements: art, music, emotions, literature, visual effects at the same time and present a visual time stamp of a time that can never be retrieved. They are the most approachable of all mass media. This is the power, the magic of cinema.
S.S. Rajamouli, a visual storyteller is one among the few directors in the Indian film industry who has open a new window in the film industry to captivate the audience with his astounding storyline. S.S. Rajamouli enamours the audience with his ability of narrating the story and whipping up rousing moments from clichés will blow away your mind with the amazing thrilling plot of his stories and gimmicky visual effects. This shows that his taste is too avant-garde from other Indian Film directors.
The movie is aided with an impressive cast who makes the film several notches higher than a regular one, including Rana Dagubatti as Bhallaladeva and Prabhas as Baahubali both shared strong screen presence, Ramya Krishna as just rajmata Sivagami (the best for any regal character) , Sathyaraj as Kattappa, loyal senapati and Tamannaah Bhatia as Avanthika, a warrior princess as a women she has more to do than just smile, which is a big deal in a movie like “Baahubali” and it is worth applauding as all of them brings their performance through their sheer intensity.
Baahubali received humongous appreciations around the world. Baahubali: The Beginning, a thrilling spell bounded mythological saga that unfolds on a mammoth canvas for two hours and fourty minutes and leaves you with idiosyncrasy and also moulds Indian cinema in a completely unprecedented manner. The story gyrate around the two Mahishmathi princes Bhallaladeva (Rana Daggubati) and Baahubali (Prabhas), where the one treat people as slaves and killed them for the throne whereas, the other is the defender of his mythical kingdom and his “praja” but the lust for throne arouses insecurity and politics in the kingdom. Bhallaladeva after killing Baahubali captivate Devasena (Anushka Shetty), his wife for years and she live only with a hope of being freed by his son who was smuggled out of the kingdom along with Rajmata Sivagami (Ramya Krishna) but she succeeded in saving him by gripping him in her arms until her last breath and make the boy survive to save his kingdom and his mother. Rajamouli ends the film on a bitter note with a cliffhanger -Why Kattappa killed Baahubali??? The question that has intrigued the audience which will now be revealed after the enthralled ending of first part Baahubali: The Beginning.
M.M. Keeravani’s music, Rama Rajamouli and Prashanti Tipirneni’s costumes, Sabu Cyril’s art direction everything goes in sync with the film. The war formations are the best we’ve seen in Indian cinema so far. These portions are stupendously fantastic and the credit goes to the cinematographer (K.K. Senthil Kumar) along with the visual effects teams. The cascading waterfall, Snow Mountains, the mystical forests and many more which all add to the pageant. Rajamouli has never loosened the grip over the story even after having intense visual effects and a bucket of twist and the result is in front of you, a top notch entertainment a perfect Indian film should deliver.
